LEGO League

First Lego League
Northburn Primary School are delighted to be involved and participating in the First Lego League this academic year. It is a fantastic STEM project with a focus on energy. The 'superpowered' learning programme is in three divisions; Discover for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, Explore for Year 3 and Year 4 and Challenge for Year 5 and Year 6. 
All of Year 5 were invited to complete in the challenge division of LEGO league on Wednesday 15th March at the Village Hotel, kindly hosted and funded by the Sage. Our four teams of experts presented an energy problem and solution to a panel of adults, presented their innovative robots, competed at the games table with their coded robots and behaved impeccably, constantly demonstrating the LEGO core values.

Year 3 and 4 welcomed their parents and families into school for our LEGO League Explore Exhibition. The teams presented their ideas so confidently and demonstrated how to use code to move their models.

Each week, a Discover session will begin with a 'six brick' challenge. You will have a LEGO set at home from school if your child is in this division. You will receive a letter from your child's teacher so that you can get involved in the same challenge at home.
