Anti-Bullying Ambassadors

Anti-Bullying Ambassadors: A Peer-Led Initiative

At Northburn, we are proud to be part of a fantastic project with the Diana Award, aimed at empowering young people to take a stand against bullying. Through this initiative, children receive training on a range of important topics, helping them understand various aspects of anti-bullying. The goal is for them to take the lead—creating and driving their own campaigns, using the knowledge and ideas gained from their training.

Children interested in becoming Anti-Bullying Ambassadors in years 5 and 6 are invited to apply for the role by writing a letter about the importance of tackling bullying.

Our current anti- bullying ambassadors' group is full of enthusiasm, brainstorming creative ideas and developing plans to make a real impact in our school. Through teamwork, discussion, and problem-solving, they have designed a structured plan for the year ahead. While staff provide guidance and practical support, the ambassadors are taking the lead—using their communication, leadership, and negotiation skills to bring their ideas to life.

To kick off the project for the Autumn term, they created an engaging anti-bullying week to raise awareness. Because this is a peer-led initiative, we believe it will help students build confidence, independence, and a deeper understanding of the signs and effects of bullying. With ongoing support and further training from the Diana Award team, we are excited to see how our ambassadors make a positive difference at Northburn, creating a safer and more supportive school environment for everyone.
